Welcome to the Brain Imaging and Neuropsychology (BraIN) Laboratory at UW-Milwaukee! The primary focus of the BraIN Lab is on the brain and cognitive consequences of chronic drug use during adolescence and young adulthood. We also attempt to explain individual differences by examining whether gender, genetics, or lifestyle factors (body mass index, cardiorespiratory health, activity markers) moderate these effects. Currently, we are running a NIH/NIDA funded study (R01 DA030354) examining whether physical activity levels or cardiorespiratory fitness moderate the effects of chronic marijuana use on frontolimbic connectivity in teens and emerging adults. We are also one of 21 sites in The Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study consortium, the largest long-term study of brain development and child health in the United States. Dr. Krista Lisdahl is the principal investigator and director of BraIN Lab.
